After 38 years with Rankin ISD, Tracy Clanton is officially retiring as the Maintenance and Transportation Director. Tracy began employment at Rankin ISD in 1986 as a general maintenance employee. He became the Maintenance and Transportation Director in 2000 and has remained in that position for the last 24 years. During his time at Rankin ISD, Tracy has been instrumental in the construction of a new High School, a new elementary, football field renovations, track field renovations, and countless housing projects and renovations. Rankin ISD will miss his expertise and knowledge. We wish him well in all future endeavors!

Branden comes to us from Quicksand Golf Course in San Angelo, TX and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. Rankin High School Teacher of the Year!
Ms. Sarah Hamlin
Ms. Hamlin teaches multiple levels of high school science including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology and Dual Credit Biology. In addition to teaching the before-mentioned courses, Sarah also coaches the Science teams for UIL and TMSCA. She also serves as the sponsor of the National Honor Society. Ms. Hamlin wears so many hats not by force, but by choice. She loves her content and loves sharing it with students even more. Her students always perform well because she does not rest until they have shown mastery of the content. If you spend a day in her classroom you will see the students participating in multiple styles of learning, group activities and bell-to-bell activities. Finally, perhaps one of her most unique and greatest attributes is how she spends her personal time. Ms. Hamlin reads textbooks for enjoyment and to increase her knowledge in order to become a better teacher! She is definitely a unique individual who is always laughing, smiling and sharing her passion for science with her students.
GOSSETT ELEMENTARY TEACHER OF THE YEAR!
Mrs. Traci Gerick
Traci is one of our most experienced English Language Arts teachers in addition to being recognized as a Master Teacher through Rankin ISD’s Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) program. She always takes the initiative on a daily basis to provide the highest quality of instruction like being one of the first on our campus to pilot and implement the state’s new curriculum, Amplify. Traci goes above and beyond to get to know her students’ academic and social needs. She is not only dedicated to her students, but is dedicated to helping other teachers better educate their students in reading and writing. Traci systematically reviews campus data to prepare and lead monthly Professional Learning Communities with our K-5 ELAR educators. Traci also coordinates and leads our Gifted and Talented Program and our elementary UIL events. She is driven to continue her education as well as she is currently pursuing her masters in Curriculum and Instruction. Traci is one of Rankin ISD’s greatest assets and deserves the honor of Teacher of the Year.
